• Flat Fees: Flat or fixed rate fees are set amounts charged for a specific service regardless of the amount of time spent. Flat or fixed-rate fees are often preferred because their predictability allows for easier budget planning. For new businesses, we can offer entity formation packages which bundle multiple services into one flat rate.
• Competitive Hourly Rates: Hourly fees are the most common fee arrangement and are based on the amount of time spent completing the service. Because our firm has made efficiency a priority, we are able to charge hourly rates much lower than those charged by larger law firms. For example, our hourly rates for business and corporate services typically range from $300 to $500 per hour depending on the complexity of the work. This is much lower than the $700+ per hour fees often charged by larger Connecticut firms.
• Contingency Fees: Contingency fees are based on a percentage of the gross amount recovered as part of a claim or lawsuit. For commercial litigation, the percentage depends on the complexity of the case and likelihood of success. This kind of fee is generally only an option for claims or lawsuits brought against another party.
• Hybrid Fees: Hybrid fees combine certain elements of other fee arrangements. For example, a hybrid fee may combine a discounted hourly rate with a contingency fee or combine a flat fee for a portion of a service with the rest to be paid on an hourly basis. Hybrid fees allow both the client and attorney to share the risk in the outcome.
• Monthly Subscription Plan: Our monthly subscription plan allows businesses to purchase a set number of hours for one monthly rate. This is ideal for businesses that require regular legal support but do not want the costs associated with hiring full-time in-house counsel. These plans gives you quick access—on an as-needed basis—to an attorney already familiar with the challenges facing your business. Other benefits include reduced rates, guaranteed response times, and more predictable costs. Plan fees vary depending on the needs of each business, such as the volume and complexity of work. However, we can normally offer subscription plans for as low as $1,200 per month with no long-term commitment.
